Lady Lakers shut out Lady Hornets

The powerhouse Camdenton Lady Lakers came out organized and ready to play Tuesday , resulting in a 10-0 shutout of Hillcrest.

Upcoming games were on the mind of Camdenton coach J.D Hunter.

“We have three matches this week. We needed to play as well as we could in this conference game, but we had to get people rested for the upcoming matches with Nixa and Glendale," he said.

The Lady Hornets were immediately put back into a defensive position and couldn’t push out. Camdenton dominated in possession and was able to execute precision passes, scoring nine goals with in the first twenty minutes. Hillcrest trailed 9-0 at halftime.

“I didn’t know we’d come out and play like that in the first 10 minutes," Hunter said. We got it wide, got on beat and served it up.”

Less than a minute into the second half, the Lady Lakers took the ball up the middle, scoring their 10th goal, ending the game in a mercy rule.  

Hillcrest Coach Hansen was calm about the outcome of the game.

“We aren’t in their league and never have been. The girls played hard but we can only play at the level we are," he said. "I only have 3 or 4 girls that have played all 4 years. This was a conference game we had to play.”

Camdenton plays Nixa at home and Hillcrest plays in Waynesville on Thursday, April 4th.
