Drury Men Back in NCAA-II Poll at No. 18

Springfield, Mo. -- A nine-game winning streak has helped Drury's basketball Panthers leap back into the national rankings at No. 18 as the new National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll was released on Tuesday.
Drury is 17-4 overall  and 11-2 - leading the Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division by two games - entering road trips this weekend to Quincy on Thursday and Illinois-Springfield on Saturday.

Coach Steve Hesser's Panthers are one of five GLVC teams ranked in this week's poll, more than any other D-II conference in the nation. Indianapolis is 12th, Bellarmine 13th, Drury 18th, Wisconsin-Parkside 21st and Southern Indiana 23rd. Kentucky Wesleyan dropped out of this week's poll.

Drury was ranked as high as 14th nationally this season, in the Dec. 18 poll, before falling out following a pair of losses in Las Vegas to defending national champion and current No. 2 and unbeaten Western Washington 72-69 and to St. Mary's 82-72. The Panthers' other losses were to current No. 12 UIndy (72-69) and current No. 21 UW-Parkside (90-88 in OT).
