The Crusaders trailed 44-30 midway through the first half but chipped away and took a lead 47-45 lead with 5:30 left on a basket by Amanda Landolt.
Central Methodist took over and shut Evangel out for the last three minutes of the game.
Sierra McSpadden led all scorers with 15 points. Raylyn Nuss had 12 to lead the Eagles.
The loss was Evangel’s fifth straight and dropped the Crusaders record to 4-11 and 3-6 in the conference while Central Methodist improved to 18-3 and 7-3.
Evangel returns home Saturday to play Benedictine. Tipoff is 2 p.m. at the Ashcroft Center.
