“We practice our free throws a lot in practice,” said Buckley. “We just have to keep our confidence up when we get to the line as well as our composure.”
Buckley finished the night 18 of 20 from the free throw line. The Lady Vikings went 28-38 from the charity stripe as Parkview never trailed in the game.

“We just played really good defense tonight,” said Buckley. “We moved the ball around really well on offense which gave us good open shots.”
Parkview forced 15 turnovers and also drew 26 Branson fouls on the night, which led to three Lady Pirates fouling out of the game late in the fourth quarter.
These two teams played each other earlier in the season at the Pink and White Lady Classic, resulting in a blowout win for the Lady Pirates.
Parkview coach Keri Nichols was very impressed with the result this time around.
“We knew that they are a great team,” said Nichols. “The difference between the two games was our defensive intensity.”
Senior Kianna McDaniel scored 10 for the Lady Vikings. Sophomore point guard Tyra Moore chipped in nine points.
Parkview started the game on an 8-0 run and had a lead of at least nine points after each quarter of play. Branson cut their deficit to six when it was 50-44 with 2:43 left to play but never inched any closer. Six points was their smallest deficit throughout the game after the 8-0 run Parkview had to start the game.
“They do a really good job at keeping each other composed,” said Nichols. “They understand that emotions are going to flare but they realize they need to take a step back and move on to the next play.”
Despite fouling out, freshman Ashley Forrest led the Lady Pirates in scoring with 15 points. Senior Jessie Barton, who also fouled out, added 13.
