December 3rd High School Basketball Scores and Highlights

Men's Basketball:
 
Mansfield Tournament:
Ava 50, Houston 41 FINAL
Mansfield 56, Fordland 51 FINAL
       Out in the Mansfield Tournament, #1 seed Ava overcomes #8 Houston by a 9 point margin 50-41. In a battle between the 4 and 5 seeds, host Mansfield rolls by Fordland 56-51. Game play will continue when Ava and Mansfield face-off in the semifinals Dec. 6 at 6:00. Houston plays Fordland in the consolation semifinals Dec. 7 at 6:00.
 
Women's Basketball:

Hermitage Tournament:
Weaubleau 78, Humansville 3 FINAL
Fair Play 56, Hermitage 38 FINAL
      Weaubleau blows out Humansville in the opening quarterfinal round by 75 points, as Fair Play drops Hermitage 56-38. Weaubleau and Fair Play both advance to the semifinals to play Dec. 6 at 6:00. Looking to find success in the consolation semifinals, Humansville will square off with Hermitage Dec. 7 at 6:00.


New Covenant Tournament:

Springfield Central 44, Mansfield 12 FINAL   -   SEE BOTTOM OF ARTICLE FOR VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS  -  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS
     In the New Covenant Tournament, Sparta crushed Norwood 51-29 in the opening game of pool play. Mansfield down 23-3 at half, the Lady Lions couldn't find themselves offensively. The Lady Bulldogs vanquished Mansfield in a final 44-12. Pool play will continue Dec. 4 when Norwood plays Greenwood at 5:30, and Springfield Central faces-off against host New Covenant at 7:00. Mansfield hits the floor Dec. 6 at 5:30 against New Covenant, and Sparta will meet Greenwood Dec. 6 at 7:00.

Regular Season:

       The Lady Eagles win big over Mount Vernon, as Nixa holds the Lady Mountaineers to a single point in the second half. Jeana Raper led the Lady Eagles to their win with a total of 19 points with five 3-pointers.

        Hannah Cook scored 19 points to lead Ozark to an easy 72-18 win over Glendale in Monday night’s non-conference matchup.  The Lady Tigers improve to 3-1 on the season while the Lady Falcons fall to 0-2. Ozark's Ivy Reynolds knocked down 13 points off of the bench while Jackie Fugate added 9. Brie Tauai also chipped in with 8 points.

Cassville 53, Galena 41 FINAL
       Cassville rolls by Galena in a 12 point victory during regular season action. Cassville faces Monett next Dec. 6 at 6:00. Galena looks for their second win of the season against Hollister Dec. 4 at 6:00.

Reeds Spring 59, Forsyth 44 FINAL
      
Forsyth falls to the Lady Wolves in a margin of 15 points. Reeds Spring will play Galena next Dec. 6 at 7:30. Forsyth will match up against Pleasant Hope Dec. 7 at 6:00.

Spokane 59, Lutie 25 FINAL
       Spokane takes a regular season game from Lutie 59-25.

Thayer 69, Gainesville 45 FINAL
        In Thayer's season opener at home, the Bobcats crush Gainesville 69-45 Monday night. Thayer plays Couch next Dec. 7 at 6:00. Dec. 6 marks Gainesville's next match up against Fordland at 6:00.

Billings 58, Hurley 49 FINAL
       Hurley stumbles to a 9 point loss in their second home game of the year against the Billings Lady Wildcats.

Waynesville 60, Sullivan 38 FINAL
       Waynesville sinks Sullivan in their first home game of the season. The Lady Tigers face-off against St. Clair Dec. 7 at 6:00.

Joplin 54, Monett 19 FINAL
       Joplin was up big at the half 35-8, and the Lady Eagles continued that momentum to 35 point win over Monett. The Lady Cubs will look for their first win of the season against Cassville Dec. 6 at 6:00.

Marion C. Early 75, Everton 33 FINAL
       Shania Francka led a balanced scoring attack for the Lady Panthers with 19 points, while Kylie Painter had 12 and Taylor Wilkins 10. The Lady Panthers improved to 6-0 on the season and will host Greenfield Dec. 10 at 7:30. Lindsey Denny led Everton with 22 points, as the Lady Tigers play next Dadeville Dec. 7 at 5:30.

Fair Grove 64, Butler 32 FINAL
         Fair Grove won with ease over Butler at home with help from Kensinger's double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 12 rebounds for the Lady Eagles. Fair Grove's Pilkington also collected 18 points and 5 steals.

Carthage 52, East Newton 47 FINAL
      Carthage knocked off East Newton at home, collecting their fourth win of the season.
 
Clever 52, Hollister 45 FINAL
       The Lady Tigers find their fifth loss of the season to Clever, as the Lady Blue Jays fly away with 7 point victory over Hollister.
      

College Basketball:
Missouri 82, Tennesse-Martin 71 FINAL
       Morgan Eye had a career performance with 26 points and set a school record with eight three-pointers as Mizzou pulled away for an 82-71 win over Tennessee-Martin.
