November 30th High School Basketball Scores and Highlights

Men's Basketball:
Buffalo Tournament:
Warrensburg 56, Rolla 45 FINAL
Bolivar 52, Marshfield 51 FINAL
     Out at the Buffalo Tournament, Warrensburg overcomes Rolla in pool play, 56-45. Marshfield fell just short of a win over Bolivar, as the Liberators sneak by the Blue Jays 52-51. Teams will continue game play as results become available to the O-Zone.

Carthage Tournament:
Carl Junction 53, Carthage 51 FINAL
Joplin 53, Rogers Heritage (Ark.) 49 FINAL
     In a semifinal nail biter, Carl Junction inches by host Carthage 53-51. Joplin follows suit, dropping Rogers Heritage (Ark.) 53-49. Carl Junction will showdown with Joplin in the championship Dec. 1 at 4:30. Carthage and Rogers Heritage (Ark.) will square off in the third place game Dec. at 3:00.

Clever Tournament:
Clever 60, Purdy 50 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS
Hartville 63, Sparta 49 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS
     The Clever Blue Jays soar to a 10 point win over Purdy 60-50, making it to the championship of their own tournament. Hartville slides by Sparta by 14 in the semifinals. Hartville and Clever will collide for the gold Dec. 1 at 5:30. Purdy will play Sparta for the bronze Dec. 1 at 4:00.

Forsyth Tournament:
Glendale 59, Branson 55 FINAL
Harrison (Ark.) 62, Mountain Home (Ark.) 48 FINAL
     The Glendale Falcons fly away with a close semifinal game, 59-55. In a Arkansas duel between Harrison and Mountain Home, the Goblins pull away with a double digit win 62-48. Harrison (Ark.) and Glendale will meet in the championship Dec. 1 at 8:30. Branson hits the floor against Mountain Home (Ark.) for third place Dec. 1 at 7:00.

Kickapoo Tournament:
Memphis Mitchell (Ark.) 64, Reeds Spring 36 FINAL  -  SEE BOTTOM OF ARTICLE FOR VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS
     In Kickapoo Tournament action, Reeds Spring failed to get their offensive game going losing big to Memphis Mitchell (Ark.) 64-36. Host Kickapoo handed Springdale (Ark.) a loss in pool play thanks in large part to Chris Ward's 24 point outburst. The Poo will play Fayetteville (Ark.) Dec 1. at 1:00. Reeds Spring will hope to get something to started as they face Liberty Dec. 1 at 11:30.

Lockwood Tournament:
Billings 79, Jasper 43 FINAL
      Jasper falls big to Billings in the Lockwood Tournament. Billings advances to the Finals Dec. 1 at 8:30. Jasper will play for third place Dec. 1 at 7:00.

Marionville Tournament:
Marionville 49, Miller 44 FINAL
Blue eye 71, Stockton 49 FINAL
      Marionville knocked off Miller in a 5 point margin in the Marionville Tournament. Blue Eye rolled over Stockton with ease in a 22 point victory. Blue Eye will rival Marionville in the fifth place game Dec. 1 at 12:00.

Parkview Tournament:
West Plains 82, Wichita (Kan.) 73 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS         
     The Zizzers take the second victory of the Parkview Tournament by a margin of 9 points over Wichita (Kan.), 82-73. Cole Butler led the way for West Plains in a game high of 19 points in pool play. Parkview snags a 6 point lead over Tulsa Central (Okla.) at the half, 25-19. Erik Durham leads the Vikings with 22 points.The Vikings never looked back, as they handled Tulsa Central in a final of 50-40. Parkview and West Plains will battle it out in an area match up Dec. 1 at 3:00.

Pierce City Tournament:
Exeter 79, Sarcoxie 72 FINAL
Verona 42, East Newton 37 FINAL
      Sarcoxie falls short to Exeter 79-72, losing their second game of the tournament by 10 points or less. Verona vanquished East Newton, running away with a 42-37 victory. Exeter will meet Verona in the consolation finals Dec. 1 at 4:00. Both Sarcoxie and East Newton will be looking for their first tournament win in the seventh place game Dec. 1 at 2:30.

Republic Tournament:
     In semifinal action, the Wildcats sustained a six point lead at the start of the fourth quarter 55-49 over Hillcrest. Though the Hornets had other plans scoring 18 points in the final quarter of play, holding Rogersville to a 73-70 victory. Hillcrest's Thomas Whittaker knocked down a game high of 33 points to lead the Hornets into the championship game of the Republic Tournament. The Tigers overpower Russellville (Ark.) in a 64-56 final. It comes down to a battle of the Hillcrest guards and Republic's size in the finals Dec. 1 at 3:30. Republic's Cody Geyer led the Tiger's offensive drive with 14 points in Friday night's win. The Wildcats of Rogersville will square up with Russellville (Ark.) for the third place Dec. 1 at 2:00.  
Strafford Tournament:
Conway 61, Mountain Grove 46 FINAL
Southwest (Washburn) 61, Springfield Catholic 58 FINAL
     Out at the Strafford Tournament, Conway sinks Mountain Grove in the consolation semifinals 61-46. It came down to the wire in the matchup between Southwest (Washburn) and Springfield Catholic, as both tangled for a tournament win. Jordan Epling of Southwest contributed an astounding 24 point performance, including the game winning 3 pointer at the buzzer. James Petit for the Trojans added 19 to Southwest (Washburn)'s 61-58 win. Conway will play Southwest (Washburn) in the consolation finals Dec. 1 at 12:30. Springfield Catholic hopes to take revenge in the Strafford Tournament, as they face-off against Mountain Grove Dec. 1 at 11:00.

Thayer Tournament:
MV-BT/Liberty 62, Cabool 60 FINAL
Alton 66, Thayer 45 FINAL
     Liberty sneaks by Cabool in a close semifinal finish, 62-60. Alton crushes Thayer by a 21 point margin. MV-BT/Liberty will hit Alton in the finals Dec. 1 at 8:00. Cabool plays Thayer Dec. 1 at 6:30 for third place.

Willard Tournament:
     The Willard Tigers maintained a small lead against the Springdale Har-Ber Wildcats through three periods in Friday night’s Willard Four-State Classic. The Wildcats gained the lead in the fourth period and looked like they were going to steal the Tigers’ certain victory. The Host Tigers finish off Springdale Har-Ber (Ark.) in a close one, 53-51.

Regular Season:
Fordland 58, Norwood 52 FINAL
Norwood stumbles to a six point loss.
Ava 53, Mansfield 39 FINAL
      Ava's Austin Gastineau led the way for Ava, knocking down a game high of 24 points in their 14 point victory over Mansfield 53-39.
Pacific 49, Salem 37 FINAL
      Pacific sinks Salem by 12 in a regular season matchup.
Walnut Grove vs. Chadwick

College Basketball:
Syracuse 91, Arkansas 82 FINAL
      Sophomore BJ Young scored 25 points for the University of Arkansas basketball team on Friday night against No. 6/5 Syracuse in a nine-point loss, 91-82, at Bud Walton Arena.

Women's Basketball:

Ash Grove Tournament:
East Newton 60, Stockton 45 FINAL
Pierce City 53, Lamar 45 FINAL
     Down in Ash Grove, Stockton edges Stockton by 15 in the consolation semifinals. Pierce City tops Lamar by 8 points Friday night. In the fifth place game, East Newton and Pierce City will play Dec. 1 at 5:00. Lamar will meet the Lady Tigers of Stockton for seventh place Dec. 1 at 3:30.

Bentonville Tournament:
Bentonville (Ark.) 46, Branson 36 FINAL
     The Lady Pirates still can't find their offensive groove, losing the second game of pool play. Branson will anticipate their first win Dec. 1 at 12:00 against Huntsville (Ark.).

Blue Eye Tournament:
Hollister 39, Galena 32 FINAL
Forsyth 48, Spokane 42 FINAL
      In Friday night Blue Eye Tournament action, Hollister knocks out Galena 39-32. The Lady Panthers ended Spokane's run in the consolation semifinals, 48-42. The consolation finals will consist of Hollister and Forsyth Dec. 1 at 4:30.

Carl Junction Tournament:
Webb City 67, Carl Junction 40 FINAL
Carthage 62, Nevada 59 FINAL
      The Cardinals rock Carl Junction in the second round of pool play, 67-40. Pool play continued when the Tiger showdown between Carthage and Nevada, with the Tigers coming out on top over the  Teams will continue game play as results become available to the O-Zone.

Diamond Tournament:
Sarcoxie 42, McAuley Catholic 32 FINAL
Verona 42, College Heights Christian 37 FINAL
     The consolation semifinals are in the books, as Sarcoxie picks up a 42-32 win over the Lady Warriors, and College Heights Christian drops to Verona in a deficit of 5 points. In the Diamond consolation finals, Sarcoxie will play Verona Dec. 1 at 1:30. McAuley Catholic faces College Heights Christian Dec. 1 at 12:00 for seventh place.

Fair Grove Tournament:
Springfield Catholic 50, Hartville 48 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS
Pleasant Hope 65, Marshfield 56 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS

      The Lady Irish jumped out to an early lead over Hartville, 21-8 at the end of the first quarter. Emma Thomas scored Catholic's first 11 points of the game in only 1:42, continuing her hot hand from behind the arc knocking down 3 three-pointers. Hartville makes a late run, erasing a 13 point fourth quarter deficit but falls to Springfield Catholic in a final score of 50-48 in the consolation finals. Pleasant Hope takes home a third place finish over Marshfield, 65-56. In the race for the gold, West Plains dominates host Fair Grove in a 20 point championship win. 

Rogers Tournament:
Ozark 48, Rogers (Ark.) 45 FINAL
     Ozark scrapes by Rogers (Ark.) 48-45, as the Lady Tigers continue their tournament win streak moving on to the finals of the Rogers Tournament. The championship game will be played on Dec. 1.

Willard Tournament:
     Amber Percival leads the Lady Tigers with 15 points, but Springdale Har-Ber (Ark.) rolls Willard in pool play 73-42 after turning the ball over a total of 25 times.
Regular Season:
Hillcrest 72, Springfield Central 63 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR STORY
It was a Springfield match up between the Lady Hornets and Lady Bulldogs, where Hillcrest seemed to narrowly fly away with the 9 point victory over Springfield Central.
Nixa 55, Waynesville 28 FINAL
      Nixa Girls stepped outside of the tournament action, as they contested Waynesville at home. The Lady Eagles led by 20 at half, and never stopped their momentum finishing off Waynesville 55-28. Nixa's Jeana Raper shined for the Lady Eagles, scoring 14 points in the first home game of the year.
