Evangel men get three-point win over MidAmerica Christian



Bartlesville, Okla. – A MidAmerica Christian (Okla.) three-point attempt with 2 seconds remaining glanced off the rim giving Evangel an 88-85 win in the first game of the Oklahoma Wesleyan Classic Friday in Bartlesville, Okla.

 

Zack Kleine led the Crusaders with 20 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field including 2 for 3 from three-point range and he connected on all four of his free throws. Stephen Cotten had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Evangel.

 

Charlie Shorter for MidAmerica Christian led all scorers with 25 points.

 

The Crusaders hit 25 of 49 shots from the field, connected on 32 of 42 free throws while owning a 36-23 rebound advantage.

 

Evangel improved to 5-1 while dropping MidAmerica Christian to 2-2.

 

Evangel plays Rhema Bible (Okla.) Saturday at 4 p.m. in Bartlesville in the second day of the Oklahoma Wesleyan Classic.
