Kickapoo wins soccer district

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Kickapoo Chiefs wasted little time in making a statement in Joplin Friday.

The Chiefs scored three times in the first five minutes, and then played stellar defense en route to a 3-0 win over the Joplin Eagles.   Elliott Williams, Turner Adams and Hunter Durham each scored helping Kickapoo claim the Class 3, District 12 title.

Goaltender Jesse Wentz stopped all shots on goal playing behind a smothering defense.

With the win, the Chiefs will face the District 11 champion Glendale Falcons on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

In their one match this year, Kickapoo beat Glendale 1-0.
