QB Andrew Brimhall named HAAC Offensive Player of the Week



Springfield, MO (Evangel Sports Information)  -- Evangel quarterback Andrew Brimhall was named the Heart of America conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance at Central Methodist on Saturday.

The junior from Cordova, Tennessee completed 25 of his 36 passes for 337 yards with no interceptions and four touchdowns. Brimhall also rushed for two touchdowns and had 8 carries for 38 yards.

Brimhall helped Evangel to the 49-16 win at Central Methodist as the Crusaders won their fifth straight game. He leads the conference in passing yards (282 yards per game), passing touchdowns (22) and total offensive yards (292 yards per game).

Brimhall is ranked 5th nationally in the NAIA in passing yards.

Brimhall is the third different Evangel player to win HAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and is the seventh Evangel player to be honored by the league with a weekly award this season.
The Crusaders host #3 Missouri Valley (8-0, 7-0) Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at JFK Stadium in their next game. Evangel, ranked #15, is 7-2 and 6-1 in the conference.
