Drury women's soccer wins in 2 OT

Kelly Gallagher's goal six minutes into the second overtime lifted Drury to a 1-0 victory over Missouri Science and Technologay in the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season finale for both teams  Wednesday night at Harrison Stadium in the Curry Sports Complex.

Drury moved to 9-7-2 overall and finshed the GLVC regular season with a 7-6-2 mark. Coach Alf Bilbao's Panthers will enter the GLVC post-season tournament this Sunday as the No. 8 seed in the eight-team field and will visit top-seed Quincy at a time TBA.

Gallagher's goal at the 1:06.27 mark of the match salvaged a win from what was a frustrating night for the Panthers, who time and time again were turned away in regulation and the first extra period.

Drury held a 21-5 advantage in shots, including 7-0 in shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net until Gallagher's game-winner - off an assist from Sarah Duffy - came from five yards out.

It was a fitting end for Gallagher, one of two seniors (joining Beth Schramka) playing their final game at Harrison Stadium.

Kelsey Vaught, the reigning GLVC Player of the Week, picked up her third consecutive shutout in goal for the Panthers.
S and T finished 6-11 overall and 4-11 in the GLVC.
