Drury dropped to 12-3-2 overall and finished the GLVC regular season with a 10-3-2 mark, settling in as the No. 3 seed when the league's post-season tournament begins on Sunday. The Panthers will play host to No. 6 seed Missouri-St. Louis in a 1 p.m. match at Harrison/Curry.
On an evening with a stiff breeze blowing in from the south end of the stadium, S and T grabbed a 1-0 lead on Kyle Schraier's goal at the 41:42 mark. Drury outshot the Miners (8-6-2, 7-6-1) 10-5 in the second half, and had a couple of great opportunities to tie it up, but came up short.
S & T put the match away when Peter Vaccaro tallied his fourth goal of the season, off a Carlos Gomez assist, with less than three minutes remaining (87:27).
S & T, normally a defensive-minded squad, outshot the Panthers 17-15 for the contest, though Drury had a 7-6 advantage in shots on goal. Matt Hutchison had four shots and Shane Woods, in his return after a four-game absence from an ankle injury, had three attempts.
