SPRINGFIELD, MO - So, how'd you do? Was it a season to remember, or a season to forget? Whatever the case, it was a magnificently captivating high school football regular season and it all starts anew next week as Missouri's gridiron greats embark upon the inaugural MSHSAA "bracket style" playoffs.

BIG 8 - The Cassville Wildcats do it again. Despite an early ejection handed to head coach David Large the black and gold held off a feisty Mt Vernon bunch 21-12 to wrap up an undefeated regular season and their 38th straight regular season win. Lamar hits the playoffs on a roll, winning its last six games, including Friday's 41-16 domination of Aurora. Monett picked up its 6th win, 32-7 over Carl Junction.
COC LARGE - 90 and counting for the Webb City Cardinals. That would be 90 straight regular season wins after Friday's 42-0 blanking of Branson. Can anyone in the state in class 4 even give the a run for their money? Ozark wrapped up the district top seed and a phenominal 8-1 regular season with a 55-21 win over Neosho. Carthage finished third in the conference race, beating Willard 49-22. Nixa just behind after a 41-6 bombarding of Republic. Austin Schweiss led the Eagle attack with 123 yards and 2 TDs.

COC SMALL - Bolivar cruises to its 10th straight COC Small title and sixth straight win to close the season with a 37-16 win at Reeds Spring. Credit the Wolves, they and Rogersville were the only conference teams to score on the Liberators. Catholic narrowly edged Marshfield 35-34. Rogersville ran Buffalo 40-7.
MID-LAKES - Strafford officially claimed its first Mid-Lakes Conference title with a 43-14 win over Ash Grove. The Indians are pretty much a scoring machine. That was the only conference matchup of the week with Marionville falling to North Callaway 42-15, Fair Grove blanking Hollister 49-0, Stockton dropping a 52-14 game against Nevada, Skyline dropped just its second game to Tipton 35-14 and Osceola takes the cheese 38-14 over Pleasant Hope.

OZARK CONFERENCE - Hillcrest took care of business, 35-14 over visiting Waynesville Friday night. The win locks up the Hornet's second straight OC title. They will share the title with Lebanon this year after the Yellow Jackets held off Parkview 31-21 led by three more TDs from Brock West. Technically Hillcrest beat Lebanon, but their is no tiebreaker in the OC. Camdenton blanked Glendale 49-0 for the Lakers' sixth win. Senior QB Cory Simpson with 182 yards and two touchdowns. Joplin pulled the minor upset of Kickapoo 20-16. Rolla picked up its first win, 28-15 over West Plains.
SOUTH CENTRAL ASSOCIATION - Mountain Grove reigns as king of the SCA after taming Thayer 34-14. The Panthers finish a perfect 9-0 and will open as top seed in their district that includes fellow 9-0 Strafford. MV-BT/Liberty is also a contender in that district. The Eagles dominated Houston 42-7. Salem nearly doubled up Cabool 41-21. Willow Springs edged Ava 28-17.
SPRING RIVER VALLEY - Miller takes home the title with a perfect 9-0 season, beating Sarcoxie 33-0 in what was supposed to be their toughest SRVC matchup. Elsewhere, Jasper polished Diamond 40-22. Lockwood overpowered Pierce City 48-20. Greenfield fell 12-7 to McAuley Catholic.
NON-CONFERENCE - McDonald County outlasted Central 35-28. Adrian beat El Dorado Springs 28-18.
Congrats to all the seniors out their who played their final home game, and good luck to everyone as we hit the home stretch and what figures to be a run to the "Show Me Bowl" to remember.
