Weaubleau takes win over Macks Creek in five innings

Macks Creek, MO (For OzarksSportsZone.com)  -- The Weaubleau Lady Tigers paid a visit to Macks Creek on Monday night and left with a 12-0, 5-inning win over the Lady Pirates.

Weaubleau scored three in the first and never looked back.  The Lady Pirates put together a good bottom of the first, but would not muster anything offensively for the rest of the night.  Audrey Whalen lead off with a backspinning flare that bounced out of the pitchers glove.  Allisyn Carnahan then singled to put runners at first and second with no one out.  Morgan Mashburn's infield single loaded the bases, but none of the runners would cross the plate as two strikeouts and a ground out to second would end the inning.  The Lady Pirates would not have another runner reach base.

The Lady Tigers continued to put pressure on the Macks Creek defense.  They scored three in the third, two in the fourth, and four in the fifth to reach their score.

Allisyn Carnahan took the loss.  She worked five innings, allowing 12 runs, seven earned, on 11 hits while walking five, and striking out three.  Defensively the Lady Pirates committed five errors behind her.

"We put together a decent half-inning both on defense and offense, but we need to find a way to keep up the intensity for a whole game," said Coach Trusty.

Carnahan and Mashburn collected the only hits for the home team.  Whalen reached on the error.

The Lady Pirates are now 1-2 overall.

The Lady Pirates JV fell in the night cap 7-3.

Morgan Mashburn took the loss on the mound.  The sophomore worked three innings, allowing seven runs, six earned, on six hits while walking five and striking out two.

Jaci Hix and Micah Schmidt each walked, had a hit, and scored a run.  Schmidt also had an RBI.  Juli Hix also singled in the contest.  Sydnee Daugherty reached on an error and score the other tally for the JV Lady Pirates.  Aven Martin collected an RBI while Bryttanee Owens walked and stole two bases.
