Meet the new champ...the same as the old champ. Memphis White Station captured its fifth Tournament of Champions title on Saturday night by beating the only nationally-ranked team in the tourney. Milton high school from just north of Atlanta, was rated 15th in the latest USA Today poll, and they led Memphis by 9 at the end of the first period and by three at the intermission.

But in front of a crowd of 9,142, White Station's Joe Jackson, who ended up as the MVP, helped Memphis rally in a decisive 3rd quarter in which the Spartans outscored the Eagles 19 to 9.

That put White Station ahead 51-44, and behind Jackson's 29 points, the Memphis school would hold on for a 68-63 victory.

In the seventh place game, Sagemont high school of Weston, Florida defeated Class 5 Missouri state champion St. Louis Chaminade 67-61. Chaminade's top player whose headed for the University of Florida, Brad Beal, had 29 points while Sagemont's 7-foot center Fab Melo,,who's committed to Syracuse, had 27 points.

The fifth place game saw United Faith Christian Academy out of Charlotte, North Carolina top Springfield Hillcrest 58-43.
