Springfield Cardinals take first series win

The Cardinals picked up their first series win of the season by beating the San Antonio Missions 3-1.

Scott McGregor controlled the first six innings with four strikeouts while giving up one run on six hits. He would be the pitcher of record picking up his second win of the season.

Centerfielder Tommy Pham started off the first with his fifth triple of the season, followed by RBI singles from shortstop Jake Lemmerman and left fielder Chris Swauger in the first. Catcher
Travis Tartamella worked the bat as well by doubling his way on in the fourth and scoring the third Cardinals run.

Michael Blazek picked up the save for Springfield, while Jose De Paula took the loss for San Antonio.

Springfield goes on the road to Arkansas with a series starting on Thursday at Dickey-Stephens Park. Anthony Ferrara (0-1. 4.32 ERA) will take the bump for the Cardinals. He will be opposed by right-handed Manny Correa ()-1, 9.00 ERA).

First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday.
