Pistons Guard Kim English holding basketball camp in Springfield

Former Mizzou Guard Kim English visited Springfield Thursday to announce he'll be holding a basketball camp at the Fieldhouse Sportscenter in Springfield July 1st & 2nd.

The Detroit Pistons selected English with the 44th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.  In his rookie season he played in 41 games and averaged 2.9 points per game.  As a senior at Mizzou, English averaged 14.5 points and lead the Tigers to the Big 12 Tournament Championship.

The camp will emphasize the individual skills of shooting and ballhandling. The proper techniques to become a successful shooter will be taught to each participant. The ballhandling skills taught will be basic passing and dribbling. All participants will be given time to practice each of these skills during their session.

English will have a session with campers, breaking down film of his from his playing days at Mizzou, as well as breaking down some of his NBA film. Camp awards will be given out with prizes ranging from gear to tickets to an NBA game in the 2013-2014 season.
