O-Zone Prep Spotlight: Cedric O'Hara, Pierce City Football

PIERCE CITY, MO - The Pierce City Eagles have been one of the Ozarks biggest surprises to start the season.  New head coach Matt Holt has the Spring River Valley contenders out to a 2-0 start with comfortable wins over Jasper and Greenfield.  A big reason for that success is the play of senior running back Cedric O'Hara, who scored all 4 of the Eagles' touchdowns in last week's 27-6 win over Greenfield.

Taking a closer look at Cedric, he enjoys hunting, swimming, basketball and track when he's not in the classroom or on the football field.

FAVORITE TEAM - Pittsburgh Steelers

Cedric has hopes of continuing his playing career post-high school.

"I would like to attend college to play football and get my nursing degree.  My mom and aunt are both nurses and it really interests me."

Before leaving high school, Cedric would like to earn all-state honors as a running back.

O'Hara is a 3-time all-state 100 meter and 200 meter dash participant.  He was all-conference in football as a quarterback and cornerback the past two years.  Despite his exceptional running ability, people might not realize another strong trait of Cedric's.

"I have good hands.  I can catch the ball good."

Cedric and the Eagles continue Spring River Valley play this Friday, visiting 0-2 Liberal.
