Missouri State Basketball Television Network Package Finalized For 2013-14

SPRINGFIELD -- The 17-game Missouri State Basketball Television Network package for the 2013-14 men’s and women’s basketball seasons has been completed, the University announced Friday (Oct. 25).

Missouri State and Nelligan Sports Marketing’s partnership with KY3, Inc., of Springfield, includes nine men’s and eight women’s games to be distributed on the Missouri State Television Network this season, which currently includes Springfield NBC affiliate KY3, KCZ - The Ozarks CW, and Time Warner Metro Sports in Kansas City.

“KY3 and The Ozarks CW are proud to once again be the home of the Missouri State Basketball Television Network in the Ozarks and are excited to present some of the marquee match-ups on this year’s schedule,” said Brian McDonough, Vice President and General Manager KY3.

Men’s games confirmed on the Missouri State Basketball Television Network are: Nov. 8 at Old Dominion (6 p.m.), Nov. 16 vs. Tulsa (7 p.m.), Dec. 13 at Oral Roberts (7 p.m.), Jan. 5 at Loyola (3 p.m.), Jan. 8 at Bradley (7 p.m.), Jan. 29 at Drake (7 p.m.), Feb. 5 at Evansville (7 p.m.) and Feb. 18 at Illinois State (7 p.m.). Missouri State’s March 1 game at Wichita State will air on KCZ if it is not selected as part of the Missouri Valley Conference’s Wild Card Weekend package on ESPN2 and Fox Sports Midwest.

The Missouri State women will also appear on the network on the following dates: Nov. 11 at Arkansas State (7 p.m.), Dec. 19 vs. Missouri (7 p.m.), Jan. 18 vs. Drake (12 p.m.), Jan. 27 at Illinois State (7 p.m.), Feb. 2 vs. Southern Illinois (2 p.m.), Feb. 16 at Drake (2 p.m.), Feb. 23 vs. Illinois State (2 p.m.) and March 9 at Wichita State (2 p.m.).

“We’re looking forward to an exciting basketball season, and I know Bears and Lady Bears fans will enjoy once again having KY3 courtside to call the action,” said Missouri State Director of Athletics Kyle Moats. “We’re grateful to our television network sponsors -- Bass Pro Shops, Mercy and Great Southern Bank -- for making this possible and for continuing their support of Missouri State basketball.”

Calling the action for the Bears and Lady Bears this season will be local broadcasting legend Ned Reynolds of KY3 sports. Former Missouri State standout Kelby Stuckey will serve as the color commentator for the men’s games, and KY3, Inc. executive sports producer Mike Scott will do color commentary for the Lady Bears.

The KY3 Inc. agreement also includes the production of the weekly Missouri State Basketball Highlights Show with Paul Lusk and the Lady Bear Basketball Highlights with Kellie Harper, which will begin airing in December.
