Longtime assistant takes over Diamond boys

Springfield, Mo. (OzarksSportsZone.com)  -- Longtime assistant Brandon Rabel will take over a Diamond boys team that finished last season with a 24-3 record and lost in the district title game.

Head Coach – Brandon Rabel (First Season)

2011 Record- 24-3

Returning Players:  Ryan Jinks (6’2 senior who averaged 9 points per game and was Second-Team All-Conference); Logan Myers (6’4 senior who averaged 9.5 points per game and was Second-Team All-Conference); Trent Hayes (6’4 senior who averaged 4 points per game)
Players to Watch – Darren Russow (5’9 junior); Brodie Bien (6’0 junior); Evan Moreland (6’2 sophomore); Tanner Paradeis (6’0 sophomore); Austin Singleton (5’10 senior); Cort Hardy (5’5 sophomore)

2012 Outlook
The Wildcats lost Kyle Heman and Jared Huffman to graduation and with them went 27 points per game of scoring. Diamond will look to make up for that loss of production by getting up and down the court this season.
“We want to be versatile in what we do offensively, but generally we want the game to be up-tempo,” Rabel said.
Keys for this team according to Rabel will be team chemistry and staying healthy as the Wildcats pursue two goals this season.
“Two team goals are to win the conference championship and compete for the district title,” Rabel said.
