Freelance Sports Writer



The strength and resources of the No. 1 television group in SW Missouri are behind a new website for all those raving high school and college sports fans. We are looking for freelance writers from all over the Ozarks and Southwest Missouri to cover high school and college sports.

OzarksSportsZone.com is looking for individuals who have a strong interest in and knowledge of high school and college sports and can produce quality writing in the AP style.

Writers will be responsible for providing one article and one photograph from an event and submitting online for potential publication by an established deadline.  Writers will be responsible for writing on their own equipment and shooting their own photos.  No equipment will be provided by KY3, Inc.

Contractor’s status shall be that of an independent contractor at all times and shall not be that of an agent or employee.  KY3, Inc. shall not carry liability or workers’ compensation insurance for Contractor; KY3, Inc. shall not provide health insurance or retirement benefits; KY3, Inc. shall not pay social security taxes or withhold any federal or state taxes for Contractor; and KY3, Inc. shall not pay unemployment taxes or insurance for Contractor.  As an independent contractor, Contractor is responsible for all taxes and insurance.

Contractor’s work produced and submitted is work-for-hire and shall become the exclusive property of KY3, Inc. to use or not use as it deems appropriate.
