Evangel's McSpadden named HAAC Player of the Week



SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Evangel forward Sierra McSpadden was named the Heart of America conference women’s basketball Player of the Week for  her play in two games last week.
McSpadden averaged 24.5 points, 9 rebounds and 1.5 steals in two games for the Crusaders last week.

The senior from Chelsea, Oklahoma scored 28 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and 2 steals in a win against Missouri Valley last Thursday. She followed that with 21 points and 11 rebounds in a win at Graceland on Saturday. Saturday’s game marked McSpadden’s fourth double-double on the season.

The award is McSpadden’s first of the season and the first by an Evangel women’s player.

McSpadden currently ranks second in the conference in scoring averaging 17.9 points per game and she ranks in the top five in the league in field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free throw percentage.

Evangel (6-13, 5-8) is at Avila for their next game on Thursday. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo.
