Evangel football up to 15th in NAIA poll

Springfield, Mo. – The Evangel University football moved up two positions in this week’s NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ poll going from #17 to being ranked 15th nationally.

The Crusaders won their fourth straight game Saturday defeating Avila 54-21 in a game Evangel led 48-7 at halftime. The Crusaders 4-game winning streak matches their longest streak of wins since 2005.

Five teams in the Heart of America conference are ranked in the top 25 with Missouri Valley (7-0, 6-0) ranked 3rd nationally. MidAmerica Nazarene (5-2, 5-1) is ranked #13, Baker (5-2, 4-2) is #14 and Benedictine (5-3, 3-3) is ranked #21.

Evangel is 6-2 and 5-1 in the Heart of America conference. They travel to Central Methodist for a 1 p.m. conference game this Saturday.
