Willard, Mo. (For OzarksSportsZone.com) -- The Parkview Vikings pulled ahead of the Willard Tigers at the end of the first quarter and held a 9-point lead at the half. The Vikings widened that lead to as much as 18 points midway through the 4th quarter, to finish with a solid victory of 54-41 over the Tigers.

The Vikings’ AJ Green blasted into the 2nd quarter with three baskets—including a 3-pointer—in the first five minutes. The Vikings held the Tigers to four points during the 2nd quarter, ending the half with a lead of 25-16.
The Tigers pushed back and managed to score 8 and 17 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters. The Tigers sent the Vikings to the foul line for 18 of their 29 points in the 2nd half. Parkview sophomore Autry Acord went 10 for 10 at the foul line in the 4th quarter.
Erik Durham (6’4”, sr.) also performed well at the foul line, sinking 8 for 10. Durham led the Vikings with 19 points on the night.
“We’re all one big family. We’re really working on keeping our turnovers down, staying composed, and dealing with pressure,” said Durham.
The Tigers’ Chris Kendrix (6’4”, jr.) and Kolbe Kinghorn (6’5”, sr.) led their team with 12 points each. The Tigers’ record now stands at 3-2, and Tigers coach Lamont Frazier expects this defeat to be a learning opportunity.
“I knew it was going to be a tough game. To be able to get our guys playing as well as they’re playing now, I think we have something to look forward to in the future. Every mistake we made tonight is correctable,” said Frazier.
