Drury suspends women's head coach for one game

Springfield, Mo. -- Drury University women’s basketball coach Steve Harold will serve a university-imposed, one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the university and athletics program, to take effect with Thursday’s Great Lakes Valley Conference basketball game at Maryville University in St. Louis.

The Drury team will be co-coached that evening by Lady Panther assistant coaches Molly Miller and John Nicolais.

Harold will be reinstated for Saturday’s game at Missouri-St. Louis.

“Drury Athletics has maintained a long tradition of excellent coaches, and we expect a high standard of professional conduct at all times,” said Matt Miller, Drury’s Executive Director of Athletics Administration. “When these standards are not met, action is necessary to remind our coaches of their obligation to uphold our tradition of excellence.”

No further comment on this action will be issued by the Drury administration or members of the Lady Panthers basketball program.
