Drury moving forward with new coach supported by former coach

It's a new day for Drury baseball, for the first time in program history.  The Panthers have changed coaches.

Mark Stratton had been the head coach at Drury since the program started in 2007, but earlier this year had to step aside after suffering a stroke.  Stratton's assistant Scott Nasby became the interim head coach.  Then on Drury's senior day with a surprise announcement Nasby was named the permanent head coach with the support of Stratton.

The road to becoming a head coach for Scott Nasby started by learning for Coach Stratton.  Nasby played for Stratton in high school at Glendale and after playing for Missouri State and making a college world series appearance.  Stratton invited Nasby to be an assistant coach at Drury, where he's been ever since.

"He fought for me, he's always fought for me and I appreciate everything he's done for me," said Nasby.

Stratton will continue working at Drury in a fundraising role as Associate Athletic Director For Development.
