Men's Basketball

Seneca Tournament:
Diamond 51, Lamar 27 FINAL
Seneca 45, Miami (Okla.) 43 FINAL
     Out in the Seneca Tournament, No. 13 Diamond outshined Lamar 51-27, while Seneca scraped by Miami (Okla.) 45-43 in the opening games of pool play. The Tournament continues Dec. 7 when Diamond plays Miami (Okla) at 6:00, and Lamar squares up with Seneca at 7:30.
 
Mansfield Tournament:
Seymour 45, Niangua 25 FINAL
Norwood 51, Gainesville
43 FINAL
     In Mansfield Tournament action, Seymour opened the night with a 20 point victory over Niangua, and Norwood knocked of Gainesville 51-43 in the quarterfinal rounds. Seymour will face-off in the semifinals Dec. 6 at 7:30. Gainesville will play Niangua Dec. 7 at 7:30 in the consolation semifinals.

Regular Season:
Pierce City 55, Wheaton 46 FINAL
     
Pierce City opened their regular season play at home overcoming Wheaton by a final of 55-46.

Montrose 71, Hermitage 49 FINAL
     Hermitage falls to Montrose in their first home game of the season, 71-49. The Hornets look next to play Humansville Dec. 11 at 5:30.

MV-BT/Liberty 59, Summersville 35 FINAL
     
Liberty exploded offensively in the third quarter, going on a 25-4 run over Summersville. The Eagles then soared onto 59-35 final over Summersville Tuesday night.

Licking 73, Willow Springs 28 FINAL
      Licking knocked down 42 at the half to claim a 28 point lead over Willow Springs. The Bears were only able of duplicating their first half performance of 14 points, losing big to the Wildcats 73-28.

West Plains 68, Salem 50 FINAL
       The Zizzers increased their lead 32-23 over Salem from five to nine points at the half. West Plains' Cole Butler scored a game high of 19 points which was too much for Salem to handle, as the Tigers fall by a margin of 18.

In a power ranking battle, No. 8 Parkview moves to a 5-0 record with a 54-41 win over No. 9 Willard. Parkview's Erik Durham (19) and AJ Green (15) both shared double digit scoring success in their road victory.

     Glendale's offensive game went cold in the 2nd quarter, only scoring one field goal in the final 6:53. The Falcons trailed for the rest of the contest, losing to the Pirates 59-43.

Cabool 76, Plato 69 FINAL
       The Cabool Bulldogs add their fourth win to their record with a 7 point victory over Plato.
 
Billings 78, Marionville 60 FINAL -  SEE BOTTOM OF ARTICLE FOR VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS
      Defending class 2 state champs run off another win, defeating Marionville big in a 78-60 final. The No. 1 Wildcats' record now comes to 4-0.

Aurora 53, Reeds Spring 40 FINAL
      Aurora maintained their double digit lead into the fourth quarter, finishing Reeds Spring off by 13. The Wolves' Skylar Murphy finished with 11 points in their Tuesday night loss.

Ash Grove 64,  Lockwood 30 FINAL
    
After Ash Grove's second place finish in the Strafford Tournament, the Pirates more than doubled Lockwood on the road.

Southwest (Washburn) 52, East Newton 40 FINAL
    
Southwest (Washburn) opens their regular season at home, defeating East Newton in the Trojans' first win this year.

Hartville 71, Mountain Grove 31 FINAL
       No. 12 Hartville crushes Mountain Grove on the road by a 40 point margin in a regular season game.

Strafford 58, Hollister 55 FINAL
      Hollister poured on 40 points in the second half, but just fell short to No. 5 Strafford in a nail biter, 58-55.

Joplin 44, Carthage 41 FINAL OT
      The Eagles and Tigers were tied 37-37 ending the fourth quarter of play. Joplin found their offensive drive late in overtime, dropping Carthage by 3 points.

Springfield Catholic 52, Forsyth 51 FINAL
       Springfield Catholic hangs on to defeat Forsyth 52-51 despite 29 points by the Panthers' Brandon Jahn. The Irish's Tyler Johnson lead with 17, and Brayton Ballenger added 11 points.

Hillcrest 49, Bolivar 38 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS      -     CLICK HERE FOR STORY
      The previously state-ranked Hillcrest Hornets traveled up Highway 13 to Bolivar and returned to Springfield with a 49-38 victory over the Liberators Tuesday night. Austin Petry and Thomas Whitaker both had 12 points to lead Hillcrest (3-1).
 
Marshfield 74, Lebanon 62 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR STORY
      Marshfield's Kerrick Wright knocked down 24 points for the Jays, as Lebanon falls by a margin of 12.

Marion C. Early 47, Buffalo 42 FINAL
      After placing fifth in the Clever Tournament, Marion C. Early wins their 3rd straight game over Buffalo, 47-42.

Eminence 74, Clearwater 46 FINAL
      Eminence claims a 28 point win over Clearwater Tuesday night.

Cassville 63, Blue Eye 59 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR STORY
      Cassville jumped to an early 8 point halftime lead, and never looked back edging Blue Eye, 63-59. Garrett Kirk of Cassville scored 21 points, and Blue Eye's Christian Mitchell shared similar success knocking down 21 in the Bulldogs' loss Tuesday night.

 St. Mary's Colgan (Kan.) 50, Jasper 40 FINAL 
      The Eagles lose a 10 point game to St. Mary's Colgan (Kan.) on the road.

Purdy 69, College Heights Christian 40 FINAL
      Purdy won with ease over College Heights Christian in their home season opener, 69-40.

St. James 67, Rolla 45 FINAL
      Rolla was within 10 at halftime, but undefeated St. James kept on with their offensive press, rolling over Rolla 67-45.

Stockton 41, Sarcoxie 37 FINAL
      The Tigers improve to 1-2 on the season, after sliding by Sarcoxie in a 4 point win.


Verona 50, Exeter 42 FINAL
      Verona downs Exeter for the second game in a row 50-42, after defeating the Tigers in the Pierce City Tournament Consolation Finals.


Crane 70, Hurley 66 FINAL
      No. 10 Crane moves to 5-0 after sneaking by Hurley, 70-66.


Spokane 82, New Covenant 66 FINAL
      The Owls win their first game the season Tuesday night in a final of 82-66 over New Covenant.

Eldon 53, Camdenton 33 FINAL
      The Lakers lose big to Eldon in their home regular season opener, 53-23.

Chadwick 49, Halfway 47 FINAL
       In a close one, Chadwick steals a win from Halfway by a margin of only two.


Greenfield 77, Everton 73 FINAL
       Austin Marshall's 34 point outburst lead the way for Greenfield's victory over Everton. 

Skyline 78,  Sherwood 74 FINAL
       Skyline skidded by Sherwood in their season opener on the road.


Greenwood 40, Lutie 29 FINAL
       The Blue Jays glide to an 11 point win, grabbing their third win against Lutie.

College Basketball:
Arkansas 81, Oklahoma 78 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR STORY
       Junior Marshawn Powell scored a career high 33 points and sophomore BJ Young knocked down the game-winner to lead the University of Arkansas basketball team to an 81-78 win over Oklahoma on Tuesday night. Powell had a banner night to go along with his 33 points; he grabbed a game-high six rebounds with five assists.  The junior went 11-of-17 from the floor, hit a career best four three-point baskets and hit 7-of-8 from the free throw line.  His 33 points are the most by a Razorback since young tallied 31 against Florida last season.
 
Missouri 91, Southeast Missouri State 65 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR STORY
     Laurence Bowers scored a career-high 26 points to help No. 12 Missouri rally from 10 points down at halftime and beat Southeast Missouri State 81-65 Tuesday night. The Tigers trailed for 17 minutes before Bowers made a turnaround jumper to give Missouri a 57-56 lead with 10:56 remaining, then stretched the lead to 73-62 with 4:16 left on an alleyoop dunk by Keion Bell. Phil Pressey added 17 points for the Tigers (7-1) after making only 3 of 14 shots from the field in the first half, including 1 of 6 from 3-point range. Corey Wilford scored all of his 14 points in the first half to lead the Redhawks (6-5). Nino Johnson and Missouri transfer Tyler Stone both added 13.
 
Evangel 80, Baker 39 FINAL  -  SEE BOTTOM OF ARTICLE FOR VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS
     Evangel took an 11-point halftime lead and blew it wide open from there outscoring Baker 49-19 in the second half for an 80-39 win over the Wildcats. Evangel led 31-20 at the half, then proceeded to make 16 of their 21 shots in the second half while holding Baker to 5 for 22 from the field in the half. The Crusaders shot 62 percent from the field in the game making 29 of 47 attempts while the Wildcats were 13 for 48 for 27 percent.

 
Women's Basketball

Hermitage Tournament:
Halfway 55, Wheatland 40 FINAL
      Out in the Hermitage Tournament, Halfway vanquished Wheatland 55-40 with the help of the Lady Cardinal duo Katy Hensley (20) and Kersten Shuler (14).

New Covenant Tournament:
Springfield Central 45, New Covenant 24 FINAL CLICK HERE FOR STORY
      Savannah Rush with 14 points lead the Lady Bulldogs to their 45-24 victory over New Covenant Tuesday night. New Covenant's Casey Askins knocked down 11 for the Lady Warriors.

Regular Season:
Blue Eye 49, Fordland 46 FINAL
      Linson shot for over half of Blue Eye's points, ending with a game high of 26 points in their close win over Fordland. The Lady Eagle's were lead by Sparks and Buttram's 14 point performance.

Strafford 60, Lebanon 44 FINAL
     
The Lady Indians found success over Lebanon, after taking fourth in the Ash Grove Tournament. 
 
Branson 50, Bolivar 44 FINAL  -  CLICK HERE FOR STORY
      A hard fought battle between the Branson Lady Pirates and Bolivar was settled with free throws in the final minutes of Tuesday night’s basketball game. Branson (3-3) defeated the Lady Liberators 50-44.

St. Mary's Colgan 48, Jasper 27 FINAL
       St. Mary's Colgan handed Jasper a 21 point loss Tuesday night.

Lamar 50, McAuley Catholic 28 FINAL
       Lamar takes home their second win of the season against McAuley Catholic, 50-28.

Purdy 56, College Heights Christian 20 FINAL
       Purdy rocked College Heights Christian by 36 points in regular season play.

Nevada 50, Carl Junction 43 FINAL
       After beating Nevada in the third place game of the Carl Junction Tournament, the Lady Bulldogs fall to the Lady Tigers 50-43.

Walnut Grove 81, Greenfield 59 FINAL
      Walnut Grove won big over Greenfield thanks in large part to Heather Harmon executing a 29 point finish with eight 3-pointers. Lexi Harmann also had a big night adding 21 points, and Madi Freeze chipped in 11.


Wrestling:
