Oklahoma  City, Okla. – Evangel starter Blake McKnight fired a one-hit shutout in a 7-0 win at Mid-America Christian (Okla.) in the first game of a doubleheader Friday. McKnight allowed a lone hit with no walks while striking out six as he picked up his third win of the season. Jake Garrison blew the game open with a 7th inning grand slam that gave the Crusaders a 7-0 lead.

Springfield, Mo. – Matt Myers blanked Mid-America Christian in an 8-0 win giving Evangel a sweep of a doubleheader and the Crusaders second shutout of the day. Myers allowed 4 hits while walking one and striking out 10 as he improved to 2-1. Wes Clay went 3 for 3 at the plate with a double and two runs scored while Christian Maciel and Seth Bailey both went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs.
 
The Crusaders improved to 8-1 while Mid-America Christian dropped to 0-7.
 
The two teams continue the four-game series tomorrow with a doubleheader in Oklahoma City.
