Crane girls return all key players

Springfield, Mo. (OzarksSportsZone.com)  -- Crane’s girls hovered right around .500 to finish last year with a 13-14 record. It was a down year for Jeremy Mullins’ squad as he has a 92-58 record entering his sixth season at the helm. The Pirates will look to bounce back with everyone back from last season’s team.

Head Coach – Jeremy Mullins (6th season, 92-58 overall at Crane)

2011 Record- 14-15

Key Returners:  Maggie McMenamy (5’9 senior post who was First-Team All-Conference last season); Allie Hagler (5’5 junior guard); Riley Isreal (5’6 junior guard who was Second-Team All-Conference)

Players to Watch – Crane has a strong incoming freshman class that went 32-0 in two years of junior high ball. Mullins says six will see some varsity minutes.

2012 Outlook

Mullins will have his girls stress pressure defense and an up-tempo pace this season as the Pirates look to improve upon last season’s record. Another key for a successful season according to Mullins will be successfully developing team chemistry and putting in hard work to meet potential.
Odds and Ends: Crane will play a tough schedule this season. The Pirates have added the Pink and White along with the Stephanie Phillips Classic to a schedule that already featured the Ash Grove Tournament and a tough SWCL schedule.
