Lockwood volleyball had a small squad of just eight players last year. The Tigers finished 6-23 overall with seven of those players returning this year to provide experience.

That returning group includes: Camryn Foster (senior OH/RS), Hannah Dunagan (senior MH), Daphne Moss (senior OH/RS), Kelyn Holman (junior S/OH), Katie Schnelle (junior MH) Hannah Kennon (junior libero) and Haley McElroy (junior OH/DS).

Dunagan led the team in kills (91) and aces (31) last year. Kennon led the Tigers in both serve-receives (399) and digs (396). Holman returns at setter after accounting for 211 of Lockwood’s 250 assists last year.

Lockwood head coach Jamie Roschevitz also has a large group of around 10 incoming freshmen coming in with many of them having the potential to make an immediate impact.

“Overall expectations are high, no matter the age or number of girls at Lockwood we always expect our athletes to work hard and achieve their goals,” Roschevitz said. “I expect them to compete at a high level, work well together, play for each other and never give up. We do not have a lot of height, but I expect my girls to work hard to become overall well-rounded players. Not only can they hit, they can also set and pass well when needed to.”

Lockwood opens the season on Aug. 29 at the Verona tournament.
