Chadwick volleyball will look to climb above .500 this year after finishing 14-16 overall in 2019.

The Lady Cardinals have a strong group of returning players to lean on this year. First-team all-conference selection Mariah Aldrich leads the returning players entering her senior year. She will be joined by classmates Paris Gilbert (setter), Tori Vaughan (defensive specialist), Kirsten Maggard (setter/defensive specialist).

The junior class includes Zoe Patterson (outside) and Bianca Mitchell (defensive specialist) while the sophomore group includes Cora Michael (outside), Natalie Parker (outside), Abigail Smith (outside), Paisley Gilbert (middle), Chloe Burkhart (middle).

Freshmen Lexi Loveland (middle), Hope Cover (middle), Sierra Jackson (setter) will look to make an immediate varsity impact this year.

This group is ready for the challenge of Missouri’s new best-of-five format for regular season matches.

“I think that moving the games to five-set matches will better prepare the girls that are wanting to further their volleyball career into a collegiate level. It will be hard to transition into the new change, but it will benefit them in the long run,” Chadwick head coach Victoria Fishback said.

Chadwick opens the season on Aug. 28 at home against Wheaton.

“My expectations for the team this year is to create an atmosphere that drives the girls to be their best not just in volleyball but in their everyday lives,” Fishback said. “They have put in a lot of work and I expect this season to be very successful for them.”
