New Covenant finished 15-13-1 last year. The Lady Warriors must replace Mark Twain Conference Player of the Year Susan Cha, but have a wealth of talent returning.

Those returning players included three all-conference selections in first-team all-conference senior setter Macy Seevers, second-team all-conference senior outside hitter Jillian Ehlers and second-team all-conference senior libero Madi Seevers.

Emily Sparks (senior outside hitter), Aubrey Klemish (senior defensive specialist), Alexis Ruff (junior setter) and Claudia Cannefax (sophomore middle hitter) also return to the varsity line-up to give coach Lindsey Letsinger a deep core of experienced players to lean on.

All of the returning experience will help as Missouri volleyball switches from a best-of-three to best-of-five set format.

“We are looking forward to the change. It will add a different mental dynamic to the season, but we are excited for this added challenge,” Letsinger said.

Sophomore Lily Auer will look to move up from junior varsity and play on the front row. Freshman Hatty Hesemann could make an immediate impact on the varsity equation.

“I expect that we will do well this season,” Letsinger said. “The girls have grown over the summer, and I have players on the floor and coming off the bench who I know can get the job done.”

New Covenant opens the season on Aug. 28 at home against Everton.
