While things have slowed to a halt in sports, Lucas Oil Speedway is on the fast track to finding normalcy — allowing fans to come out for opening day.

“My friend called me and was like, want to go to the race track? And I was like, sure, I’m ready to go,” said race fan Ray Burns.

Whether it’s the dedication to the sport, or just missing sports at all; nothing was going to slow down these fans from coming out.

“I’m actually more hyped to get out and go see a race than nervous.
To get out of the house and do something fun,” said a group of race fans.

And as much as the spectators missed being at races, the drivers missed them.

“That’s what keeps our sport going is the fans, so without them we really can’t do it,” said racer Kaeden Cornell.

This season especially, a little bit more went in to making this all possible.

“I’m sure there was a lot of regulations and stuff that had to be cleared for this to happen, so just can’t thank everybody enough that let us come out here,” Cornell said.
