Monett head soccer coach Cristobal Villa reached out to us, hoping to surprise his senior stand-out Jason Puente with some great news he had just learned.
We invited Jason and friends and family out to the station where he would be named the O-Zone Soccer Player of the Year – or – at least that’s what they thought.
As we were setting up for the interview, Chad Plein told Jason he would read something from the TelePrompTer – saying “Hi, I’M Jason Puente from Monett High School. And I just found out I’m the O-Zone Soccer Player of the Year.”
Except coach Villa and Chad knew that’s not what Jason was about to read.
