2018-19 Winter Preview: Mansfield Girls Basketball

mansfield-4

Mansfield posted a 15-12 record last year that finished with a district semifinal loss to Summit Conference rival Hartville.

Things are looking up for the Lady Lions with a full roster returning including both all-conference performers returning this year. Karsyn Brooke earned first-team all-conference honors as a junior. She averaged a double-double last season. Junior Chloe Lansdown was an honorable mention all-conference honoree after she scored eight points per game last season.

Coach Gary Greene expects sophomore transfer Jada Henry to be a big piece of what Mansfield does this year.

Behind those three will be a deep and talented group.

“Depth and team speed should be our biggest strength,” Greene said.

The experienced group should allow for the Lady Lions to expand on last season’s 15 wins.

“I believe we can be pretty good if we stay healthy and improve our shooting statistics. We won 15 games last year and have everyone back,” Greene said.

Mansfield opens the season on Nov. 19 at Bakersfield.
