Lamar football now holds nation’s longest active winning streak

Lamar now holds the nation’s longest high school football winning streak at 49 games.

The Tigers came into August with the No. 3 streak behind Kimberly (Wisconsin) and Soldotna (Alaska).

Soldotna opened its season on Aug. 10 and fell 18-13 to Anchorage West on a touchdown on the final play of the game to have their 59-game winning streak snapped.

Tonight, Kimberly fell 31-28 to Fond du Lac on field goal on the last play of the game to have its 70-game winning streak snapped.

Now Lamar stands alone at the top ahead of its opening game on Aug. 24 at Rogersville.
