SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury Lady Panthers head coach Molly Miller has announced the signing of guard Zoey Mullings from Strafford High School.

Mullings has been part of the Stafford girls basketball dynasty that has captured the last three state championships at the Class 3 level and ended the 2017-18 season with an 82-game winning streak as well as a number 25 national ranking by USA Today.

The 5-8 guard surpassed 1,000 career points during her senior season that saw her average 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game while shooting 43 percent from the field. Mullings was a second team All-Mid-Lakes Conference selection and named second team All-District last season marking the second time her career she has earned those postseason accolades.

“Zoey is so well rounded as a person and player, she will add to our positive culture and strong basketball tradition,” said Drury head coach Molly Miller. “Obviously you’re ahead of the game when you recruit winners and Zoey comes from a great high school program with high expectations. She is multidimensional and will have the ability to play multiple spots on the floor for us. We can’t wait for her to join our Drury family!”

Mullings averaged 14.5 points for Strafford during her junior year while also pulling down eight rebounds per game. During her sophomore season, she put up 9.2 points per game and averaged 6.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and three steals per contest.

In last year’s state championship game, Mullings snared 13 rebounds to go along with six points in Strafford’s 77-36 win over California High School.

Mullings is a multi-sport athlete at Strafford and was a first team All-State selection in softball helping the Indians to a state championship during her junior year. She fired a two-hit shutout in last year’s state championship game finishing last season with a 16-1 record as a pitcher. In addition to being All-State, Mullings was a first team all-conference and all-region selection and was last year’s 1-Award winner by OzarksSportsZone as the area’s top performer in softball.

She is the fourth signing for the Drury women’s basketball program for the 2018-19 season. The Lady Panthers have also signed guard Paige Robinson (Okaw Valley HS, Bethany, Illinois), center Adene Edwards (Troy-Buchanan HS, Troy, Missouri), and forward Shelby Myers (Effingham HS, Effingham, Illinois).

The Lady Panthers ended the season 31-3, and 17-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. They won the GLVC title for the second straight year, advanced to the NCAA-II Midwest Regional championship game for the third consecutive season and ended the year ranked 7th in the final NCAA-II coaches’ poll.
