Drury University swimmer Bailee Nunn was named the NCAA-II National Swimmer of the Year following her performance at the D-II national championship meet in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Nunn, a sophomore from Marshfield, won four national championships last week capturing first place in the 200-yard breaststroke, the 200 individual medley, the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke. She was also on two relay teams, the 400 freestyle and the 200 freestyle, that finished in second in the nation.

Her four national titles came on the heels of missing nearly all of the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship meet last month with a back injury. Nunn swam in just one event at the GLVC meet and was disqualified.

Last year, Nunn was the GLVC Swimmer of the Year as a freshman and won a pair of individual national titles and was on two national championship relay teams.

The Drury women’s team finished as the national runner-up for the second straight year at this year’s NCAA-II championship.
