Former Bear Matt Hall named FSL Year End All-Star

LAKELAND, Fla. – Lakeland Flying Tigers starting pitcher Matt Hall has been named to the Florida State League (FSL) Year End All-Star Team. Selections were made by field managers, coaches, official scorers and radio announcers.

Hall was 7-6 with a 2.44 ERA in 19 games (18 starts) with the Flying Tigers. In 103.1 innings pitched he allowed only 98 hits with 110 strikeouts. He currently ranks first in the FSL in ERA among qualified pitchers. Hall was promoted to Double A Erie on August 4.

Hall was the Florida State League Player of the Month for June, the Detroit Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Month for June and the FSL Pitcher of the Week for June 26 – July 2. Hall did not allow an earned run in 25.2 innings in June, as he held opponents to a .169 average and walked just six while striking out 31. Hall was 3-0 in June and allowed only 15 hits during his four outings, with just three of the hits going for extra bases (two doubles and a homer).

This is Hall’s third professional season. He was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the sixth round of the June 2015 draft. Hall, 23, currently ranks as the #26 prospect in the Tigers organization by MLB.com.
