Sean Sax, Waynesville

Sax wrestled in one of the deepest weight classes the state of Missouri had to offer at 126 pounds in Class 4. He lost to eventual state champion Cameron Valdiviez in the quarterfinals but rebounded on the backside of the bracket and finished third. He finished 40-4 overall his junior season.

Joseph Semerad, Monett

Monett has a lot to be excited about with its young wrestlers and Semerad leads the way for that group. He scored a tech fall in his opening-round match at state before pinning his final three opponents on his way to a Class 2, 106-pound state title. His record finished at 52-3.

Ethan Smith, Buffalo

Smith made Buffalo wrestling history in February by winning the Class 1, 113-pound championship to secure the first-ever individual state wrestling championship for the school. He won his championship bout in a tight 4-3 decision after trailing 3-0 late in the second period. He finished his sophomore season with a 48-7 record.
