Daniel Brinck, Nixa

Brinck was the only area swimmer to swim his way into two state finals events, finishing seventh in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.99) and eighth in the 100-yard freestyle (48.31). To add to the all-state medals, Brinck’s 200-yard freestyle time was a new Nixa school record in the event.

Cole Earl, Glendale

Earl continued to make his name as one of the state’s best divers in 2016. The Glendale sophomore finished third at the state meet with a total score of 459.20. He also helped lead Glendale to the Southwest Missouri Swim and Dive team title.

Mason Hatch, Kickapoo

Hatch capped his senior season with a sixth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at the state meet with a time of 21.62. He also swam a leg on Kickapoo’s 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished 14th. In addition, Hatch posted one of the state’s top 30 times on the season in the 100-yard freestyle.

Cole Smith, Ozark

Smith is one of the area’s stronger swimmers as evidenced by his all-state finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:47.47. In addition, he posted a 13th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and swam a leg on Ozark’s 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished 15th.
