The Springfield Leadoff Club hosted its annual Senior Awards luncheon Monday afternoon at the Elk’s Lodge. It was a pair of players who brought home top honors.
Kickapoo’s Adam Link and Glendale’s Owen Gann were named Co-MVP. With districts next week, both players know the end of their careers is getting close, and the time is now to cherish the final games.
“It’s awesome,” said Link. “It’s the same group of guys I’ve been playing with forever and we all know this is our last season together, so we’re going to give it our all for each other, every day.”
“Once we get to districts the first loss is the last one, so it’s really going to push all of us, not just me, but our entire senior class to try as hard as we can and districts and hopefully go on to state,” said Gann.
