Springfield, Mo. — Rogersville junior Hailey Souter made a state cut in today’s SWMO Women’s Championship prelims in the 50-yard freestyle, and her reaction was everything.
In the 50, there’s barely time to breath, let alone think about the tenths of a second separating swimmers in each 50-free heat from first to last place. Souter came into the meet .43 seconds off the state qualifying time of 25.49 and dropped her time all the way down to 25.41.

The moment she saw her time flash on the board was AMAZING.
She added an Olympic-style water fist pound because why the heck not?
The moment slowly set in as her teammates cheered her on.
Amazing.
