Evangel women lead end-to-end over Mount Mercy

SPRINGFIELD – The Evangel University women’s basketball team led from start to finish Saturday afternoon to post a 63-46 victory over Mount Mercy in conference action.

The Crusaders jumped out to a 24-9 lead to the start the game and led 40-24 at the half. Evangel dominated the boards, winning the rebound battle 51-37 as Samantha Williams pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Madi Johnson paced Evangel in scoring with a career-high 19 points after going 5-of-10 from behind the three-point line. Taylor Longley added 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Crusaders.

Mount Mercy was led by Alexis Lozano-Dobbs who finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
