Unstoppable force Hayley Frank is one of the best sophomores basketball players in Missouri. We know this. You know this. Deep down, she probably knows this. What she did Wednesday night in Strafford’s 81-57 win over Willard should be proof enough.

Frank poured in 32 points and 21 rebounds last night. Yes, she posted a 30-20 double-double against a Class 5 team with a winning record. To put that in some state-wide perspective, of all available statistics on MaxPreps.com, only ONE OTHER PLAYER in the state in the Top 40 in rebounds per game has put up such a line. That player is Class 1 Praire Home’s Shianne Rhorer. Rhorer, a senior, put up 37 points and 20 boards against Class 1 Northwest Hughesville back on Nov. 22.

Not to diminish what Rhorer has done, but Frank (who already has 1,000-career points) putting up those numbers as a sophomore and against a pretty good Class 5 school is borderline mind-boggling. Strafford is now 17-0 and keeps confirming Abby Oliver’s statement that this year’s Indians are better than last year’s state-champion Indians. Scary.
