Springfield native Jordan Frazier is returning home after three years at Big 12 Oklahoma State.  The 6-4, 265 lb tight end announced his decision to transfer to Missouri State for his remaining two years of eligibility via Facebook and Twitter.

“Throughout the past two seasons I have had the opportunity to play in the biggest games of my life on the biggest stages of my life,” said Frazier.  “After two back to back injuries that kept me out of play this past summer and most of this season, I’ve found myself in a situation that is no longer ideal for my athletic career.”

Frazier was a captain at Springfield’s Lighthouse Christian, where he led the Chargers to an 11-2 record and the 2013 National Home School Football Association national championship.  He led the team with 50 receptions and 10 touchdowns.  Previously, Frazier played his freshman and sophomore years at Rogersville, the latter of which the Wildcats won the Class 3 state championship.

He considered transferring to another FBS school, but ultimately chose his hometown and Missouri State where he will be eligible to practice this spring and play this upcoming season.

“After a month of contemplation, I have elected to come back home to play for my city and the city that made me,” said Frazier.  “The energy and hype surrounding Missouri State football right now is undoubtable, and the opportunity to help take Springfield, Missouri and Missouri State Football to a national championship level is exactly what I’m looking for.”

Frazier played in every game this season, mostly on special teams with two starts at tight end, but didn’t register a catch.  He played in three games last season with one catch for sever yards after redshirting his freshman season.  Despite his previous injuries, Frazier says he’s healthy and ready to go right away.

“I’m healthier than ever, and I can’t wait to get to work come early January, and I’m looking forward to September 2nd at Mizzou to start off my career as a bear.”

Frazier was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school according to ESPN.com and 247 Sports.  He was ranked the no. 23 player in Missouri with offers from Tennessee, Illinois and Indiana among others.
