Junior Cody Geiger was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Week announced by the organization on Monday.
Geiger helped lead the Crusaders to wins over College of the Ozarks and 13th-ranked Grand View as he averaged 24 points per game. The Republic, Missouri native averaged 7.5 rebounds per game and was a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line.
Evangel knocked off the Bobcats on Tuesday, 78-66, before upsetting No. 13 Grand View Saturday, 88-81. The Crusaders are back in action Thursday and Friday at the Assemblies of God Classic hosted by Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California.
