Class 5 – District 4
Glendale 85, Ozark 44 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR A RECAP/PHOTOS
Next Week: Glendale hosts Zumwalt North
Glendale prepped its fans for basketball season by putting up 85 in its district title win over Ozark. The Falcons led, 49-9, after 12 minutes and pushed that to 71-23 at halftime. Glendale built its lead in part on three successful onside kicks in the first quarter, all coming after leading 21-9 early. Alex Huston completed 28-of-41 passes for 561 yards and seven touchdowns in the first half alone, finishing 33-47 for 715 yards and nine touchdowns and adding two more touchdowns on the ground.

Class 5 – District 5
Carthage 47, Nixa 7 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS

Arkell Smith hauled in four touchdowns for Carthage, which won its third-consecutive district title in pretty easy fashion on Friday against Nixa. The Tigers led 27-0 at the half. Nixa’s lone touchdown came on fourth and goal from the one-yard line.

Class 4 – District 4
Parkway West 42, Rolla 7 – FINAL
Rolla’s Cinderella run came to an end at the hands of a Parkway West team that outscored its opponents 127-10 in this year’s district tournament. The Bulldogs finish the season 3-9 after a pair of tournament upsets the past two Fridays. This is Parkway West’s first district title since 2006.

Class 4 – District 5

Next Week: Webb City hosts Harrisonville
Webb City got its revenge after falling to Carl Junction way back in Week 1. This was a defensive struggle for most of the game, despite the final score. The two were tied, 6-6, at the half before Webb City grabbed a 12-6 lead in the third quarter. The Bulldogs stayed within a score until Durand Henderson punched one in from the four-yard line to put Webb City up 20-6.

Class 3 – District 4
Monett 44, Mount Vernon 28 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR FULL RECAP

Michael Branch went #BeastMode on Friday, powering Monett to a district title behind his 35 carries, 329 rush yards and five touchdowns. Branch’s night included a season-long 65-yard rushing score in the third quarter. Mt. Vernon cut a 17-0 deficit to 17-14 after a pair of Garrett Hadlock touchdown strikes. Hadlock surpassed 3,000 yards on the season in the win and finished with three pass touchdowns. But even with Hadlock’s big night, the Mountaineers could never quite catch the Cubs, even after Andrew Montemayor cut a 23-14 halftime deficit to 23-21 with a kickoff return score to open the second half. A 53-yard Ian Meyer touchdown to Cody Thompson put Monett up 17-0 with 7:52 remaining in the first half.

Class 2 – District 3
MV-BT/Liberty 26, Mountain Grove 25 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR A RECAP/PHOTOS
Next Week: Liberty goes to Lamar
Liberty held off rival Mountain Grove to stay perfect and set up a matchup next Friday with undefeated Lamar. Liberty led 14-13 at the half and 26-19 in the fourth quarter. The Panthers seemed poised to tie things at 26-26 late in the fourth, but the extra point sailed wide left. Mountain Grove would get one more chance late but a deep fourth-down pass fell just out of reach. Liberty quarterback Josh Pruett went for 427 total yards and three scores.

Lamar held previously undefeated Fair Grove to -9 yards rushing and 154 total yards, winning yet another district championship in the process. The Tigers led 39-0 at the half, using its dominant rushing attack to pound away at the Eagles’ defense. Lamar totaled 413 yards on the ground on 34 carries.

Class 1 – District 2:
Thayer 6, Ash Grove 0 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR FULL RECAP

The night’s lone defensive struggle took place in Ash Grove. No surprise, really. Garrett Young recorded the game’s only score, punching one in from three yards out with 4:57 remaining in the second quarter to put Thayer up, 6-0. The Pirates looked to grab some momentum heading into the half after a Paul Chavez interception at Ash Grove’s own five-yard line kept the game close. But the second half was more of the same for Ash Grove’s offense, which was held to 72 total yards by Thayer.

Class 1 – District 3:
Midway 42, Lockwood 20 – FINAL
Next Week: Midway goes to Lincoln
Midway led Lockwood, 21-14, going into the half and pulled away over the final 24 minutes behind Peyton Richardson’s 248 rush yards and five touchdowns on 16 carries. Lockwood totaled 307 yards of offense and finishes the season 9-3.

Class 1 – District 4:

Lincoln’s one loss in its last 23 games came against Skyline in last year’s district title game, 42-8. Call this revenge. The Cardinals ran and passed over and through Skyline, seemingly at will, building a 42-28 halftime lead and completely shutting down the Shawn Bryan show in the second half for the program’s first-ever district title. Bryan got the visitor side up early, taking the opening kickoff to the house. Lincoln would respond with a pair of scores over the next 60 seconds, the second being a Caleb Smith scoop and score off a Bryan fumble. Skyline battled back, however, tying the game 22-22 early in the second quarter after Lincoln had built a 22-8 lead. A Dominic Simmons kickoff return touchdown put Lincoln up 38-28 at the half.

8-Man – District 4:
Sacred Heart 40, Greenfield 38 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR FULL RECAP
Sacred Heart broke hearts in Greenfield Friday, marching back from a 32-12 deficit to upset the Wildcats, avenge a regular-season loss and claim an 8-man district title. The Gremlins led 12-0 early before Greenfield rallied for 32 unanswered points. But those 32 unanswered Wildcat points were answered by 22 unanswered Gremlin points. Greenfield reclaimed the lead, 38-34, with 7:55 remaining on a 13-yard Draven Strapp touchdown run. With 22 seconds left, Trent Lyles hit Micah Tanguay for the game-winning nine-yard touchdown pass on a ball that first bounced off a Greenfield defender. Nine two-point conversion attempts failed in the game and teams combined for 210 penalty yards, with each reaching at least 100.
