Kickapoo had nary an issue with Lee’s Summit North on Friday, jumping out to a 24-0 halftime lead and stretching that lead to 45-0 in the fourth quarter before allowing a pair of garbage-time scores. Chris Lawson carried the load with Maverick McGee’s injury absence, rushing for 105 yards and four scores on 25 carries while adding 148 yards passing. The Chiefs will face Rockhurst next week.

Lebanon booked its semifinal date with Ozark thanks to tonight’s win over Central. The Yellowjackets led 35-0 early in the second quarter and 51-8 heading into the fourth quarter. Lebanon put its reserves in during the first half.

No. 4 Branson 15, No. 5 Waynesville 6 – FINAL
Ryan Still connected with Luke Masters for a 52-yard touchdown and Chad Utzman added a 15-yard score to help the Pirates build a 15-0 third-quarter lead on Waynesville despite four first-half turnovers. The Tigers had their chances, but failed to capitalize throughout, finishing their season without a win. Branson visits undefeated Glendale in the semifinals.

Coleman Scott hit Jarvis Funk for a 19-yard touchdown pass with 9:33 left in the second quarter to put Neosho up 21-0 on Republic. The Tigers cut that score to 21-7 at the half but never got any closer after Neosho put up the only 14 points of the second half. Neosho will face Nixa in the semifinals.

Willard piled 458 rushing yards onto Parkview (500 total yards) in a no-doubt quarterfinals win. The Tigers didn’t punt once the entire night and led 22-0 at the half. The score through three quarters was 36-6, Willard. Parkview totaled 257 yards of total offense to Willard’s 500 yards.

No. 1 Carl Junction 56, No. 8 McDonald County 12 – FINAL
The Bulldogs waltzed past McDonald County on Friday, leading 56-6 at halftime. They’ll host Bolivar in the semifinals.

No. 2 Webb City 49, No. 7 Marshfield 14 – FINAL
Pretty easy one for Webb City, outgaining Marshfield 409-181. A nine-yard Hunter Vanlue touchdown put the Cardinals up 28-0 with 1:44 to play in the first quarter.

The Zizzers blocked a 30-yard Camdenton field goal attempt with six seconds left to secure a quarterfinal win after erasing a pair of 14-point deficits. West Plains trailed 28-14 in the third quarter before tallying 15 unanswered points and staking a 29-28 lead with 3.5 minutes to play after a successful two-point conversion. West Plains travels to Webb City next week. Camdenton outgained West Plains, 336-248. The Lakers ran 78 plays to 44 for West Plains. The Lakers won the turnover battle, 2-0.

Bolivar led 28-12 at the half in Hillcrest, stretching that lead to 34-12 early in the third quarter on a six-yard Connor Sechler touchdown run. Hillcrest cut that lead to 34-24 with a Josh Powell 78-yard kickoff return on a Haden Parton touchdown pass, but got no closer. Erik Savage had a 52-yard pick-six for Hillcrest. Conley Garrison had an 87-yard pick-6 for Bolivar. Bolivar gets Carl Junction in the semifinals.

Class 4 – District 4
No. 6 Rolla 38, No. 3 St. Clair 34 – FINAL
A Blayne Yarger interception with eight seconds left inside Rolla’s 35-yard line secured the upset for the Bulldogs. Rolla went up 38-34 with 1:16 remaining, just 2.5 minutes after St. Clair had retaken the lead, 34-31. The Bulldogs had led 31-20 in the fourth quarter before 14 unanswered points by St. Clair. Dawit Pritchett finished with over 200 rush yards for Rolla, including a 63-yard touchdown run to put the Bulldogs up, 24-20, near the end of the third quarter. Rolla will face Union in the semifinals.

Class 3 – District 1
No. 4 Potosi 34, No. 5 Salem 24 – FINAL
Salem led 21-18 before Potosi rallied for 16 of the game’s final 19 points. The Tigers finish the season at .500 (5-5). Salem hadn’t ended a season with a first-round district tournament loss since falling, 20-13, to Rogersville in 2012.

Class 3 – District 3: CLICK HERE FOR THE BRACKET
No. 1 Owensville 69, Buffalo 28 – FINAL
Owensville led Buffalo 56-7 at the half and 69-7 through three quarters. The Bison close the season 2-8, losing their final seven games.

No. 2 Osage 28, No. 7 St. James 25 – FINAL

No. 6 Eldon 32, No. 3 Springfield Catholic 0 – FINAL
Surprising final for the O-Zone staff, which all picked Catholic in this one. It was all Eldon from the start, however, jumping to a 19-0 halftime lead and 25-0 lead through three quarters. Eldon found success thanks to the return of injured halfback Trenton Kidwell, who rushed for 1,000 yards in 2015 but broke his fibula in this year’s season opener. The Mustangs ran for over 200 yards on Catholic. The Irish totaled just 64 yards rushing.

No. 4 Sullivan 46, No. 5 Rogersville 30 – FINAL
Rogersville cut a 33-24 Sullivan lead to 33-30 with 9:14 remaining, but Sullivan iced things with 13 unanswered to send the Wildcats home. This was a close one throughout, but Rogersville could never quite get over the hump. Sullivan led 7-6 and 14-12 in the first quarter and 20-19 at the half before extending that lead to 27-19 in the third quarter.

Class 3 – District 4: CLICK HERE FOR THE BRACKET
No. 1 Reeds Spring 28, No. 8 Aurora 18 – FINAL
Upset-minded Aurora cut a 14-0 first-quarter Reeds Spring lead to 14-12 heading into halftime, but the Wolves hit first in the second half, extending their lead to 21-12. Reeds pushed that lead to 28-12 with seven minutes to play. The Wolves get Mt. Vernon in the semifinals. The two met in the season opener with Reeds Spring winning, 47-34.

No. 2 Monett 35, No. 7 Seneca 11 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS
Monett led just 7-3 late in the third quarter before a turnover on downs and a Michael Branch touchdown pushed that lead to 14-3. After forcing a fumble on the next drive, Ian Meyer capitalized with a touchdown run, pushing the Bears lead to 21-3 early in the fourth quarter. Monett will host Cassville in the semifinals. The two played earlier this season, with Monett squeaking by at home, 21-20.

The Wildcats rolled past East Newton, never trailing after 14 early points and a 28-15 halftime lead. Cassville totaled 430 yards, with 370 of those coming on the ground. River Phelps had a huge night, rushing for six scores and accounting for 263 of Cassville’s yards. The Wildcats get a rematch with Monett in the semifinals.

No. 4 Mount Vernon 44, No. 5 Hollister 20 – FINAL
Mount Vernon led 20-8 at the half and used a balanced offensive attack to top Hollister and set up a semifinal matchup with Reeds Spring. Andrew Montemayor caught a pair of Garrett Hadlock touchdowns and Sammy Robinson recorded a 100-yard night on the ground. Jackson Bekemeier had a big night for Hollister, breaking the 250-yard mark and rushing for three scores.

Undefeated Liberty cruised by Houston for the second consecutive week after closing the season with a 55-15 win over the Tigers. The Eagles led 21-0 after one quarter and 49-0 at the half. Brenton Bush caught five balls for 114 yards, setting the program record for receptions in a season with 70. Liberty will face Diamond in the semifinals.

Chance Barbe and Trystan Short combined for 422 yards on 15 carries and eight touchdowns. (That’s 28.1 yards per carry, for those who like those kind of video-game numbers). The Panthers led 56-8 at the half and will face Ava in the semifinals. Mountain Grove topped Ava, 26-0, back on Sept. 2.

No. 3 Ava 18, No. 6 Strafford 0 – FINAL
This game was tied at the half before a trio of Ava scored in the first eight minutes of the third quarter. Strafford never found its offense as Ava’s defense recorded its third shutout of the season. Ava gets a rematch with Mountain Grove in the semifinals.

No. 4 Diamond 27, No. 5 Willow Springs 24 – FINAL
Hunter Renfro picked off Willow Springs passes on the Bears’ final two possessions, securing the three-point win for Diamond. Willow Springs found the endzone four times but didn’t manage a single point-after attempt, something that ended up being the difference in the game. Diamond led 14-6 in the second quarter before Willow Springs used 12 unanswered to go up, 18-14, at the half. The Bears extended that lead to 24-14 on their first possession of the third quarter. Diamond trailed 24-21 through three quarters and took the lead for good with 4:15 remaining. Diamond totaled 353 yards of offense to Willow’s 344.

The Eagles spread the love around offensively once again, pushing their record to 10-0 and setting up a semifinal matchup with El Dorado Springs.

El Dorado Springs continued its strong late-season swing with a pretty dominant upset win over Cole Camp. The Bulldogs led 18-6 at the half and have now won four of their last six games.

No. 4 Stockton 28, No. 5 Versailles 21 – FINAL
A Justin Pfeifer touchdown put Stockton up 16-7 at the half. Versailles cut that lead to 16-13 in the third quarter but got no closer. Stockton went up 22-13 with 8:56 remaining. The Tigers will travel to Lamar next week.

Spencer Eagleburger and top-seed Ash Grove did what a top seed should, leading 19-0 in the first quarter and 26-6 at the half behind nearly 400 yards rushing from Eagleburger. The Pirates host Sarcoxie in the semifinals.

No. 2 Thayer 53, No. 7 Pleasant Hope 8 – FINAL
Thayer led 40-0 in the second quarter, extending that lead to 53-0 before Pleasant Hope finally found the endzone in the fourth quarter. Thayer will host Pierce City next week.

No. 3 Pierce City 33, No. 6 Marionville 0 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS
Pierce City sent itself to the semifinals with a shutout of Marionville. The Eagles led 26-0 at the half. They’ll visit Thayer in the semifinals. This was Pierce City’s first opening round district win this decade.

Cabool was 5.5 minutes from recording its second consecutive district tournament win following a winless regular season, but Sarcoxie used a 77-yard Devon Middleton kickoff return touchdown, a game-tying field goal following a Cabool fumble and a Middleton touchdown run with under a minute to play to take the lead for good. Cabool managed to get inside Sarcoxie’s 25-yard line with 25 seconds remaining, but turned the ball over on downs.

Lincoln’s defense put forth its fourth shutout of the season, with two of those now coming against Osceola. The Cardinals were again paced by a pretty spread out offensive attack headed by Boone Kroenke’s four touchdowns. Lincoln led 48-0 at the half and will host Appleton City in the semifinals.

No. 4 Appleton City 60, No. 5 Tipton 32 – FINAL
Coleton Smith scored a trio of touchdowns for Appleton City as the Bulldogs pulled away from Tipton after leading by just one, 21-20, after a wild first quarter. Appleton City led 35-26 at the half and 41-26 through three quarters.
