COLUMBIA, Mo. – Isaiah McKenzie caught a 20-yard pass from Jacob Eason with 89 seconds left to pull No. 20 Georgia to a 28-27 win over Mizzou on Saturday night at Faurot Field.

The winner was the third TD of the night for McKenzie, who helped the Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) overcome a poor night on the ground. Mizzou held all-America candidate Nick Chubb to just 63 yards on 19 carries. Mizzou's defense held the Dawgs to just 2.7 yards per rush.

Sophomore QB Drew Lock (Lee's Summit, Mo.) had an outstanding first half, throwing for 322 yards and a pair of touchdowns. After scoring just six points against Georgia since 2013, Mizzou (1-2, 0-1) exploded for 10 points in the first quarter, highlighted by a 15-yard TD grab by TE Jason Reese (Euless, Texas) on Mizzou's opening drive to cap a 10-play, 72-yard drive. It was the second consecutive game that Mizzou scored a TD on its opening drive. The Tigers opened a 10-0 lead on a 33-yard FG by freshman Tucker McCann (O'Fallon, Ill.). Georgia scored with 3:15 remaining in the quarter on a six-yard run by McKenzie to cut the lead to 10-7 after the first.

After a Georgia took the lead on a two-yard Christian Payne TD grab, McCann connected on a career-long 46-yard field goal to pull Mizzou within one at 14-13. After forcing a punt on the ensuing Georgia possession, Lock found J'Mon Moore (Missouri City, Texas) with a perfect pass on a slant route and Moore made an incredible catch, reaching behind on his back hip, showing tremendous body control. After gathering himself, Moore took the pass 79 yards for the touchdown, regaining the lead for Mizzou. Georgia regained the lead with 1:48 remaining in the half on a McKenzie 20-yard catch.

Then coming out of the break, the Tigers appeared to pounce. Sophomore S Cam Hilton (St. Louis, Mo.) jumped a route, picked off Eason, and returned the interception to the UGA six-yard line. On the ensuing play, Lock once again found Moore for the duo's second scoring connection of the night. Moore finished with eight catches for a career-high 196 yards and the two scores.

Junior DE Charles Harris (Kansas City, Mo.) continued to be a difference-maker in the second half, notching two of his three sacks, and a third tackle for loss.

Mizzou will be back home next weekend as it hosts Delaware State on Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. Mizzou continues its three-game homestand next Saturday night for the SEC opener vs. Georgia.
