Tony Brandt, Greenwood – CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON BRANDT

Brandt was the top golfer for a Greenwood team that finished third in Class 1 and was eight strokes shy of winning the team title. Brandt, a junior, shot a 76 and took 3rd overall in the rain-shortened Class 1 state tournament. He shot a 2-over 74 to win his sectional meet and, a week earlier, placed 5th at districts as Greenwood took home the team title. For the season, Brandt medaled in seven of 10 tournaments and averaged an 18-hole score of 75.

Josh Fronabarger, Aurora – CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON FRONABARGER

A two-time 1 Awards nominee, Fronabarger qualified for state all four seasons as a Houn’ Dawg and earned all-state honors in his sophomore and junior seasons. This year, Fronabarger was third at districts and tied for fourth at sectionals. He also shot a 71 to win the MSU Relays during the regular season.

Sam Holmes, Glendale — CLICK HERE FOR A 2016 FEATURE ON HOLMES

It’s hard to stand out on a team as deep and talented as Glendale, but Holmes certainly did his part with consistent play. The senior was 2nd at conference, tied for 7th at districts, placed 7th at sectionals and tied for 5th at state, helping Glendale win all four meets as a team. Holmes shot 77 or better at conference, districts, sectionals and state.

Taylor Haltom, Ava

Continuing in older brother Tristan Haltom’s path, Taylor Haltom posted his third-consecutive all-state finish this past spring. He shot 73-76—149 at the two-day Class 2 state tournament to finish alone in 5th place. Haltom won his district meet by eight strokes and placed fifth at sectionals. He placed first in seven tournaments during the 2016 spring season.
